NEW!RIVIERA DISC GOLF COURSE !

We would like to thank David Fultz, for bringing to our community a 9 hole disc golf course. This is a welcomed improvement to the highly visible corner of Hawaina and Point Lakeview (previously Yacht & Golf's abandoned Par 3 course).

Disc Golf is fun for all ages alike. The course is a series of 9 metal baskets (holes). The objective is to throw the disc towards the basket and eventually get close enough to the basket to throw the disc into it.  Then you move to the next hole. The score keeping is much like ball golf - with par counts and so on.

FREE & ALWAYS OPEN.  Yep, Free. One of the best things about the Riviera Disc Golf Course is that it is free of charge, always ! Set in a park like setting, it is at no cost that you play, learn or just observe. So come down today and take a peek - the course, signs and baskets are not all completed yet - but you can still play.

What makes this such the new craze is that grandma & grandpa can walk the course with the grand kids and casually play - or a group of the guys can get in a cut throat competitive tournament ! Look for the Riviera Course on Professional Disc Golf Associations website: www.pdga.com for products, rules and more. The discs (much like a frisbee, but a little heavier and aero-dynamic) come in a variety of colors, weight options and produced by many manufacturers. They average in price from $5 to $18. ((but, as you are learning, borrowed discs - or even a frisbee (shhhh) will do the trick).

DO YOU HAVE A RENTAL ? Effective January 1, 2003 until Jan 1, 2006 a landlord must provide a month to month tenant with an additional 30 days notice to terminate tenancy if the tenant has lived in the dwelling at least one year of more. The notice requirement is now 60 days. The tenant still can terminate with only 30 days notice. There are certain situations where the 60 day notice is not required.

DEPOSITS. Landlords may only collect the equivalent of two months rent for any reason for an unfurnished home. The deposit must be placed in an interest bearing account for the tenant. Some exceptions do apply.

((To learn more review the newest residential landlord-tenant laws enacted by the California Legislation)).

LANDLORDS are asked by the Association to provide your renters with the Associations governing documents and regulations. Forward renters information to the office so that they may receive the newsletters and special mailings.  Renters are members of our community too.

Spring often marks the beginning of fund raisers for numerous organizations. You may already know this - as children have already been seen soliciting door to door. Please, as parents instruct your children not to enter into homes as they collect, and to always go door to door with a buddy. Did you know that The American Heart Association's most recent fund raiser is being sponsored by Kelseyville School District is called JUMP FOR HEART ! Local students are asking for donations towards the event. The children are rewarded based on donations collected, and so on. April 6th marks the end of the fund-raiser drive and the day that each school celebrates with their participating student body with jump-rope events, basketball competitions and more.
